The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has launched its Virtual Stage and has two debuts coming up. At 8 tonight (May 7), the orchestra will show principal trumpet Stuart Stephenson performing the Arutiunian Trumpet Concerto. Stephenson was scheduled to perform the piece April 30 and May 2 with the full orchestra. This video performance will come straight from Stephenson’s living room. Next Thursday (May 14), the Virtual Stage will feature the ASO’s performance of “Everything Lasts Forever” by Michael Kurth, one of the orchestra’s bassists.
The Kimono My House online concert series continues on Facebook Live with a trio of shows Friday night: Nathan Evans Fox at 7 p.m., Jed Drummond at 8 p.m. and Adron at 9 p.m. Adron is an Atlanta native who recently moved to Los Angeles. She released her last album, Water Music, in 2018 to critical acclaim. At 9 p.m. Saturday, the series will present Noah Lehrman.
In times like these, when we are separated by necessity, ArtsATL is needed more than ever. Please consider a donation so we can continue to highlight Atlanta’s creative community.
