Ballethnic Dance Company’s traditional Urban Nutcracker will be livestreamed at 8:30 p.m. Saturday (December 19). The original work is set in 1940s Atlanta and features a Coca-Cola Pas de Six, among other dancers. The virtual performance includes interviews with performers and the artistic team. A $19.90 donation (the year Ballethnic was founded) will give viewers a 24-hour pass to see the ballet. A $40 donation will give viewers a seven-day pass plus one Ballethnic class and other goodies.
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will air an hourlong holiday special at 7 p.m. Saturday (December 19) and at 11 a.m. Sunday (December 20), both on WXIA-TV. The concert also can be seen at 8 p.m. Sunday on WATL-TV. GPB-TV will broadcast an ASO holiday performance and a virtual sing-along with tenor Russell Thomas and soprano Talise Trevigne at 8 p.m. December 23.
