ArtsATL, which serves as Atlanta’s primary source for independent and comprehensive arts journalism, has begun a search for an executive director.
The job description calls for “a visionary strategic leader to find new ways to fund a nonprofit digital publication, engage the current audience, grow a bigger audience and support Atlanta’s dynamic arts community.”
ArtsATL was founded in 2009 as a nonprofit. The digital publication features Atlanta-specific arts news, interviews and profiles and in-depth reviews of art + design, music, theater, film + television, dance and books. The publication endured a financial crisis earlier this year but stabilized after arts leaders and supporters in the community rallied to a call for help.
The executive director will develop and recommend an annual budget, develop fundraising strategies, oversee the organization’s human resources and serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, staff and the ArtsATL board. This person will develop a strategic vision of growth for the organization and serve as the face of ArtsATL to the community.
The job calls for a bachelor’s degree, with an M.B.A. or similar graduate degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in writing grants, fundraising and donor development.
