After more than 3,000 people tuned in for their first virtual concert last month, an all-star lineup of Atlanta chamber musicians will return at 2 p.m. Sunday for a performance from the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. The musicians include David Coucheron, Julie Coucheron, Helen Hwaya Kim, Charae Krueger, William Ransom, Elizabeth Pridgen, Christopher Rex, Yinzi Kong and Jens Korndoefer. The program will feature music by Brahms, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann and Mendelssohn. The event is free, but donations are encouraged to pay the musicians and the piano tuner.
The Alliance Theatre’s “We’re Still Here: A Virtual Cabaret” series continues at 7 tonight (August 6) on the Alliance’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Courtenay Collins (The Prom) will be tonight’s host for the light and casual show of songs, stories and maybe a cocktail or two. Collins and Terry Burrell (Ethel) alternate weeks. Both are Atlanta performers with Broadway credits. The series broadcasts every Thursday through September 10. The shows are free, but donations are encouraged.
In times like these when we are separated by necessity, ArtsATL is needed more than ever. Please consider a donation so we can continue to highlight Atlanta’s creative community in this unprecedented time.
