The New-Music group Bent Frequency welcomes China’s Zhou Family Band for “Happy Chinese New (Y)Ear” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Georgia State University’s Kopleff Recital Hall. The program will include contemporary and traditional works by Chinese composers. The Zhou Family Band performs folk music handed down through six generations of family members. Bent Frequency will feature works by contemporary composers Chen Yi, Carolyn Chen and Tonia Ko.
Ladies Rock Camp is a three-day rock ’n’ roll intensive in which women learn to play an instrument, form a band, write a song and perform it. This year’s graduation concert is at Eddie’s Attic at 5:30 p.m. Monday. The camp benefits Girls Rock Camp ATL, a nonprofit dedicated to creating an empowering community for self-identified girls and women, and trans and gender-expansive people through music education, creative expression and performance.
