The Atlanta nonprofit Living Walls has partnered with Atlanta Medical Center on a mural titled Stronger Together to express support for health-care professionals in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
You can attend the official unveiling, via Living Walls’ Instagram Live feed, at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (October 27).
The mural, the work of Atlanta artist Sanithna Phansavanh, can be seen at Boulevard and East Avenue N.E., near the hospital’s emergency department entrance. It’s associated with the Living Walls project #SignsofSolidarityATL, created in 2017 to spread messages of love, hope and positivity in Atlanta public spaces.
Sanithna — he often goes by that name alone — has an interest in the cycles of creation, existence and permanence. His work ranges from small pencil drawings to large-scale painted murals. He’s exhibited nationally and internationally. In Atlanta, his work has been seen at the High Museum of Art, as a part of the Living Walls Conference, on the Atlanta BeltLine and through the city of Atlanta’s public art programs.
In times like these, when we are separated by necessity, ArtsATL is needed more than ever. Please consider a donation so we can continue to highlight Atlanta’s creative community.
