Atlanta Symphony begins “Around the A” concerts at Centennial Olympic Park

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will kick off a new “Around the A” series of concerts with a free performance September 25 at Centennial Olympic Park.

The Wednesday performance, starting at 7 p.m., will feature ASO Assistant Conductor Stephen Mulligan holding the baton in a program of Mendelssohn, Bartok, Verdi, Mozart, Rossini and Haydn.

Seating with a direct view of the stage is not guaranteed and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Food trucks will be on-site, along with beverage stands.

Other performances will take place through June 2020 at various locations in the city featuring the full orchestra, chamber groups, the ASO’s Talent Development Program and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra.

On October 12, a chamber group of ASO musicians will perform at the Avondale Arts Walk. Youths in the Talent Development Program will perform October 13 at Friendship Baptist Church, and the ASO will perform at the Atlanta History Center October 27. Other performances will be announced.
