Art, Film: “Anthropocene,” lesbian love

Anthropocene, a three-person exhibition curated by ShowerHaus, opens with a 6 p.m. reception tonight (January 30) at Swan Coach House Gallery. Andrew Catanese, Kylie Reece and Lily Reeves, who work with ideas of reconnection, consumption and repurposed materials, reflect on the dawning of a new age in geology and the environment. Through February 15 only.

Out on Film and Out Front Theatre Company cohost a screening of Wild Nights With Emily (2018, 84 minutes), a historic comedy about poet Emily Dickinson’s love affair with her sister-in-law. Molly Shannon is Dickinson. The screening coincides with Out Front’s run of the comedy Bull in a China Shop (tonight–February 15). Wild Nights With Emily events are Monday, February 3, and include a 6:30 p.m. prescreening reception,  a 7:15 p.m. Women in the Arts panel and an 8 p.m. screening. $5.
