Bongang was born in Cameroon in West Africa, majored in illustration at SCAD Atlanta, lived here for a decade and now lives in Nashville. He’s been doing street art for nine years. See more of his work on Instagram.
Bold colors, swirling lines and out-there imagery, usually done freehand — he likes viewers to see something new every time they look at one of his murals, he says.
SEE FOR YOURSELF:
The spotlighted mural, titled Love, Live … Life at 1776, is at 1776 Peachtree St. NW, a seven-floor office development in south Buckhead. Directions HERE.
Spray paint — he prefers the Montana brand and exterior house paint for the background.
Bucketfeet footwear (artist-designed shoes), Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee, Xfinity/Comcast and Mailchimp, among others.
ELSEWHERE IN ATLANTA:
Bongang has murals at 2971 Flowers Road South, at the Shops of Buckhead on Peachtree Road NW, at City of Ink on Edgewood Avenue NE and at Hodge Podge Coffee House on Moreland Avenue.
This week in street art is a collaboration between ARTS ATL and Art Rudick and his Atlanta Street Art Map (please send comments, suggestions and ideas for street art you’d like to see spotlighted to email@example.com).
