The Serenbe Institute continues its six-week Virtual Zoom Concert Series at 7 p.m. Saturday (September 12) with trumpeter Dashill Smith. He describes his music as “jazz of a different DNA strand to your ears” and brings multiple influences into his sound. The concert originates live from the Southwest Arts Center. The series will continue through October 3.
The Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta begins its 2020-21 virtual season Friday (September 11), with the first of a series of noon concerts at the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. The fall portion of the season will conclude the society’s “Beethoven 2020” project, which celebrates the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth and was interrupted in March by the pandemic. Friday’s performance will feature the Cello Sonata No. 3 and Violin Sonata No. 7 with Rainer Eudeikis on cello, Helen Kim on violin and William Ransom on piano.
In times like these, when we are separated by necessity, ArtsATL is needed more than ever. Please consider a donation so we can continue to highlight Atlanta’s creative community.
