The William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum hosts a free Zoom webinar with jazz photographer Herb Snitzer at 7 tonight (November 12). Snitzer’s landmark photos of jazz icons from the 1950s and 1960s can be seen virtually through the museum. Jazz pianist and historian Joe Alterman will join Snitzer, who’ll share stories about Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Nina Simone, Thelonious Monk (pictured), Miles Davis and other legends he shot for Metronome magazine. See the photographs HERE.
The Georgian Chamber Players perform Beethoven and Brahms in a free livestream performance at 2 p.m. Sunday (November 15) from the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. The group was formed in 1984 by Atlanta Symphony Orchestra principal players, and that tradition holds today. Its lineup of elite musicians includes violinist David Coucheron, pianist Julie Coucheron, cellist Rainer Eudeikis, violist Reid Harris, string player Julianne Lee, pianist Elizabeth Pridgen, cellist Christopher Rex and string player Zhenwei Shi.
In times like these, when we are separated by necessity, ArtsATL is needed more than ever. Please consider a donation so we can continue to highlight Atlanta’s creative community.
