Your Source For The Arts In Atlanta

Georgia Tech professor Philip Auslander will discuss his latest book, In Concert: Performing Musical Persona, in a virtual book launch at noon Wednesday (February 10). He’ll talk about how musicians use costumes, physical gestures and light shows to engage audiences. He’ll discuss musicians  ranging from the Beatles to Nicki Minaj, and Lady Gaga to B.B. King. The free event —  registration required — will include a Q&A.

The Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta — not to be outdone by the Super Bowl — will livestream its Bach Bowl 2021 at 4 p.m. Sunday. The hourlong program will feature violist Yinzi Kong, organist Timothy Albrecht, violinist David Coucheron and flutist Christina Smith. They’ll play Bach’s Suite in C Major, Violin Sonata in G Minor, the Flute Partita in A Minor and Albrecht’s Chorale O Ewigkeit, du Donnerwork/O Eternity Paraphrase. Free.
