
Dance, Music: Terminus, Capitol City Opera
Capitol City Opera opens its 37th season with Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, running Friday–Sunday at the Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University. The five-act opera is set in 14th-century Verona and performed in French with English supertitles. Michael Vavases and Rachel Eve Holmes will sing the lead roles, joined by a chamber orchestra conducted by Michael Giel.

Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre heads to the Marietta campus of Kennesaw State University’s Marietta campus Friday–Saturday to perform Modern Myths at the KSU Dance Theater. The program includes Tara Lee’s Under the Olive Tree, first choreographed for New Orleans Ballet Theater in 2016, and Heath Gill’s Horizons, which premiered in 2018 at an outdoor venue in the Serenbe community. It will be reimagined for an indoor stage.
