Your Source For The Arts In Atlanta

Daniel Fuller

Daniel Fuller

The Contemporary has appointed Daniel Fuller as curator.
Fuller, who will start work on December 1, has been director of the Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art (ICA @ MECA) for the last four years. MECA’s exhibition list suggests an active engagement with performance art, sound art, site-specific work and dance.

“The Contemporary will be a site of actions and interactions, a site that is open to Atlanta’s diverse communities. My curatorial philosophy has always been clean and simple: to just remain open — ever open to artists and ideas,” he said.

The Maine native’s previous positions include senior program specialist with the Philadelphia Exhibitions Initiative, a program of the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, and assistant curator and curator of new media at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill, New York. Fuller holds a Bachelor of Arts in Painting from Towson University and a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from Syracuse University.

He has written for the art:21 blog, Art in America online and Art on Paper, among others.

Fuller, who replaces Stuart Horodner, will report to Julie Delliquanti, executive director. She said, “I am confident that Daniel’s leadership and curatorial vision will make a significant impact on our community. His hire is a first step of many we have planned for the next few years as we continue to grow the organization, work to broaden accessibility and educate audiences.”
