Your Source For The Arts In Atlanta

Spalding Nix will open its spring show virtually at 10 a.m. Friday, March 27. It features the work of sculptural painter Marina Savashynskaya Dunbar, Atlanta portrait painter Marc Chatov and textural abstract painter Laura Dargan. Dunbar and Dargan both live and work in Charleston, South Carolina. Email the gallery for a link to Friday’s party. And bring your own refreshments.

The High Museum of Art is offering any number of virtual activities, including a 75-minute-long closeup look at French impressionist Camille Pissarro’s Mother Jolly Mending. Unlike other impressionists who focused on a bustling Paris, Pissarro (1830–1903) painted scenes of rural life. Other videos available through the High Museum highlight such artists as William Christenberry, Sally Mann and Amy Sherald, among others.

In times like these when we are separated by necessity, ArtsATL is needed more than ever. Please consider a donation so we can continue to highlight Atlanta’s creative community in this unprecedented time.
