Friday
The longest-running jazz-based Christmas tour returns to Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre with its 28th-anniversary edition. Koz will bring along guitarist/singer Jonathan Butler and will feature special guests Haley Reinhart, Casey Abrams and Kayla Waters. The show starts at 8 p.m. on November 28.
The Dad’s Garage ensemble skewers and twists the quintessential holiday play. Following last weekend’s previews, the show officially opens on November 28 and continues through December 30.
The final edition of this long-running holiday revue with co-founder and producing Artistic Director Ann-Carol Pence at the helm takes place at Aurora Theatre from November 28 through December 21.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
This annual holiday favorite is back at the Center for Puppetry Arts through December 28. This weekend, in addition to the Friday and Saturday shows, there are two sensory-friendly performances on Sunday, November 30, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Roswell Dance Theatre: The Nutcracker
Roswell Dance Theatre’s classic interpretation of the beloved holiday ballet is back at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center, November 28 through December 7.
Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre: The Nutcracker
Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre’s enchanting rendition of the beloved story ballet offers six performances over Thanksgiving weekend, from November 28 through November 30, at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre in Marietta.
The winner of the 2024 Tony Award for best musical is adapted from S.E. Hinton’s seminal novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic film. It’s at the Fox Theatre through November 30, with matinees on both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday
Get a dose of post-Thanksgiving soul with the veteran R&B crooner at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Opening the show is TMF, which features five former members of Maze. The show starts at 8 p.m. on November 29.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York Live in Concert
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will present composer John Williams’ score performed live to film by a full orchestra. Conductor Susie Seiter will lead the concert at 7 p.m. on November 29 and 3 p.m. on November 30.
More things to do this weekend and beyond
A holiday tradition continues with A Christmas Carol at the Alliance Theatre’s Coca-Cola Stage through December 24. There’s no performance on Thanksgiving Day, but there will be five shows over the weekend to kick-start your holiday spirit … The Jazz Legacy Project presents Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite at Red Clay Music Foundry in Duluth at 7 p.m. December 3.
