The Georgia Symphony Orchestra has a new virtual concert, Sympathetic Resonance, online that features works by Mozart, Puccini, Warlock, Liszt and Grieg. The hourlong, strings-only performance was filmed at the Marietta Performing Arts Center in late January under the baton of music director Timothy Verville. The pandemic inspired the concert’s theme, with music chosen to represent the range of emotions felt during the past year. Free for 2019–20 season subscribers; others are asked to make a donation. A year ago Kimono My House began a series of streamed house concerts by mostly Georgia-based musicians in response to the pandemic. The concerts became a vital performance outlet for bands and singer/songwriters who suddenly could not perform live. Founders Andy Gish (The Yum Yum Tree) and Kim Ware (The Good Graces) celebrate with a three-day virtual festival that starts Friday. Performers will range from Mudcat to the Young Antiques to Heather Luttrell and the Possumden. Complete schedule HERE.
