The Decatur Book Festival, the virtual version, continues this week. Today (September 24) features is a panel on “Writing in a World of Turmoil” with author Roxane Gay and culture critic Soraya Nadia McDonald from The Undefeated. On Friday (September 25), the National Book Foundation will present authors Hanif Abdurraqib and Camonghne Felix discussing “Reckoning With Resistance.” Both events are free, but registration is required.
The Jennie T. Anderson Theatre will host a drive-in cabaret at 7:30 p.m. Friday (September 25) and 4 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday (September 26). The socially distanced show will feature actors and musicians from Atlanta Lyric Theatre in the Cobb Civic Center parking lot. $30 per car. Each vehicle will be assigned two parking spaces. Concessions will not be available, but attendees can bring food and coolers but no alcohol.
