The Solidarity Project: A Celebration of Historical Nonviolent Resistance

March 29 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Atlanta Dramatists is delighted to announce its first ever fully staged and designed production, The Solidarity Project: A Celebration of Historical Nonviolent Resistance. This collection of short plays is timely, with pieces often highlighting both courage and resolute strength in the face of oppressive forces. Topics include the Civil Rights Movement, the Iranian Revolution, the Americans with Disabilities Act, labor strikes, and more. With a mixture of comedy, tragedy, music, dance, and poetry, there is something for everyone; most of all, there is hope.

This festival will be presented in March and April at its co-producing theaters, the Academy Theatre in Hapeville, GA (March 28 and 29 and April 4 and 5; Saturdays at 8 p. m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.) and Town Square Playhouse in Fayetteville, GA (Friday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.). Ticket prices vary by ticket type. At-the-door, main seating tickets are $30.

All eleven short plays will be presented at each performance of The Solidarity Project:

  • America Is Freedom by Paige Steadman
  • Charlie’s Choice by Tammy Caplan
  • Growl by J. Lois Diamond
  • Help Me/Shoot Me by Danielle Wirsansky
