Opening Celebration for You Are Not Alone: BUGS!

You Are Not Alone: BUGS!, curated by Charlotte Woolf, is a group exhibition featuring Atlanta-based painters, sculptors, photographers, and multidisciplinary artists. The exhibition reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the Fine Arts Department at Georgia State University Perimeter College, incorporating related programming in theater, music, and film centered around the theme of insects.

The title of the exhibition, You Are Not Alone: BUGS!, is drawn from the popular meme honoring the ecosystem’s smallest yet irreplaceable members. The exhibition features artists working across mediums whose practices engage insects and their vital role within ecological systems. Through themes of pollination, decomposition, labor, and interdependence, the show explores how insects shape the environments around us, inviting both artists and viewers to reflect on the often-unseen networks sustained by these powerful creatures.
