METRO ATLANTA: Manga, anime and cosplay take over Avondale Estates on Sunday, November 1, 2026, with the debut of Manga Day Festival, a free, all-ages celebration at Olive + Pine.

A festival by The Comic Workshop, the one-day event coincides with International Manga Day, bringing fans and curious newcomers together from across Metro Atlanta to experience the Japanese comic tradition known for its distinctive art and storytelling. The fun starts with a Shiba Inu Welcome Parade through Avondale Estates before heading into a day full of colorful, interactive activities, including live art demonstrations by professional artists, a pink-carpet Cosplay Runway Showcase, and a K-Pop and Anime Sing-Along hosted by Mister John’s Music.

“This past summer, our ‘Everything Anime & Manga’ camp sold out a month in advance with a waitlist, which showed us there was an appetite for more,” said Stephanie Fleming, Co-Founder of The Comic Workshop and Manga Day Festival producer. “As frequent comic convention attendees ourselves, we wanted to create something local and accessible where fans and families could immerse themselves in the world of manga, with the art and independent artists at the center. We want people to leave inspired and take a little of Manga Day home with them.”
Festivalgoers can shop manga, art and merchandise, discover Japanese food at Enso Izakaya and snacks at Oni Station’s Mobile Konbini, meet professional cosplayers and snap a photo with Taro, the festival’s ninja Shiba Inu mascot.

The festival also takes guests on a mini adventure through the community with the Avondale Manga Stamp Rally. Grab a Manga Quest Map and visit participating neighborhood businesses to collect stamps, special offers and freebies along the way.
