New orchid  hybrids and other rare blossoms juxtaposed with unexpected objects turn the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Fuqua Conservatory into a chromatic funhouse in “Orchid Daze: Surreal Beauty” through April 14.

CINEMA: Le Chat du Rabbin. Joann Sfar directed this animated adaptation of The Rabbi’s Cat (its English title), his radiant graphic novel about a philosophical talking feline and the Algerian Jews who “own” him. 5:30 p.m. March 6–7. Plaza Theatre.

ART + DESIGN: Adriaan Geuze. This Prix de Rome-winning architect and co-founder of the firm West 8 delivers Georgia Tech’s Douglas C. Allen Lecture. 6–7:30 p.m. March 6. Architecture East Auditorium.

MUSIC: David Coucheron. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster performs the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto (on his 1725 Stradivarius) alongside his colleagues; also, works by Rossini and Schubert. March 7, 9 and 10. Symphony Hall.

ART + DESIGN: Grappling Mandala. Atlanta artist Joe Peragine’s latest exhibition consists of drawings, paintings and animation that look askew at the sport of wrestling. Opening reception, 7–10 p.m. March 8; exhibition through April 13. Marcia Wood Gallery.

THEATER: Jerry Seinfeld. The Great Observational Comedian, surely best known for the television series named after him, performs. 7:30 p.m. March 8. Fox Theatre.

THE ARTS: Decennial Phoenix Flies. The tenth annual iteration of this series – which spotlights Atlanta architecture with performances, tours and talks – is to include a photographic look at celebrated sites, on display in the rescued L.P. MUSIC: Yale Women’s Slavic Chorus. This ensemble presents songs from Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine and elsewhere; with Mercury Orkestar and the 4th Ward Afro Klezmer Orchestra. 9 p.m. March 13. The EARL.

MARCH 14ART + DESIGN: American Craft Council Show. More than 200 masters of such forms as jewelry, clothing and furniture strut their stuff at this annual exhibition and marketplace. Cobb Galleria Center.

THEATER: The Secret Agent. Atlanta-based composer Curtis Bryant wrote this new adaptation of the classic Joseph Conrad novel about anarchism and espionage. 8 p.m. March 15–16; 3 p.m. March 17. Conant Performing Arts Center.
