February 28

Tayari Jones, one of the nation’s most acclaimed contemporary authors, will appear in conversation with Condace Pressley to discuss Jones’ newest book, Kin. The event takes place at the Lawrenceville Hooper-Renwick Branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library at 7 p.m. on February 28.

March 3

The Atlanta History Center and A Cappella Books welcome CBS News’ Senior Correspondent Norah O’Donnell in honor of her new book, We the Women: The Hidden Heroes Who Shaped America. The event takes place at the Atlanta History Center at 6:30 p.m. on March 3.

Eagle Eye Book Shop is hosting a book launch party for Joshilyn Jackson for her new book, Missing Sister.  She will be in a fireside chat with Mary Kay Andrews at 7 p.m. on March 5.

March 5 and 19

Robert Gwaltney celebrates the release of his new novel, Sing Down the Moon, a Southern Gothic tale of generational trauma. He’ll be at the Decatur Library in conversation with Kimberly Brock, Ann Hite and Lo Patrick at 7 p.m. on March 5. He’ll also appear at the Roswell Public Library to talk about the book at 2 p.m. on March 14.

March 9

A Cappella Books welcomes Atlanta’s own 2 Chainz to the Tara Theatre in honor of his new memoir, The Voice in My Head Is God, at 7 p.m. on March 9.

March 10

A Cappella Books brings Tom Junod to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library to celebrate the release of his long-awaited memoir, In the Days of My Youth I Was Told What It Means to Be a Man. Junod will appear in conversation with award-winning author and journalist Melissa Fay Greene at 7 p.m. on March 10.

March 11

A Cappella Books and Georgia Center for the Book welcome Pulitzer Prize-winner Robert Olen Butler for a discussion of his new novel, Twice Around a Marriage. He’ll appear at the Decatur Library at 7 p.m. on March 11.

March 14

Join author M. Akua McDaniel for a discussion of her book A Dream Deferred: The Art and Activism of Edwin Augustus Harleston, the first full-length biography of one of South Carolina’s most significant African American visual artists. She’ll appear in conversation with Dr. Amalia Amaki at 2 p.m. on March 14 at the Auburn Avenue Research Library in an event sponsored by 44th & 3rd Bookseller.

March 16

After inheriting her mother’s pioneering hair care business, A’Lelia Walker became America’s first high-profile Black heiress. Author A’Lelia Bundles will discuss Joy Goddess: A’Lelia Walker and the Harlem Renaissance — a biography of her great-grandmother, whose parties, arts patronage and convenings helped shape the social and cultural scene of that era — at the Atlanta History Center at 7 p.m. on March 16.

March 22

Atlanta chef Ron Hsu of Lazy Betty will be discussing his new cookbook, Down South + East, with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Mike Jordan at 5:15 p.m. on March 22 at Virginia Highland Books.

March 23

New York Times bestselling author Marie Benedict will appear in conversation with Virginia Prescott to discuss her new novel, Daughter of Egypt, a sweeping tale of a young woman who unearths the truth about a forgotten Pharaoh. The event takes place at 7 p.m. on March 23 at the Atlanta History Center.

March 24

Dan Rood’sIn the Shadow of the Great House is one of the first contemporary books to focus on the primary engine of slavery, race and capitalism in this country: the plantation. He’ll discuss the book with Peter Biello at the Atlanta History Center at 7 p.m. on March 24.

March 27

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker comes to First Baptist Church in Decatur to talk about his new book, Stand, at 7 p.m. on March 27 in an event sponsored by Brave + Kind Bookshop.

April 14

Join Virginia Highland Books for an evening with Jon Lindstrom, currently starring in the CBS/Paramount+ hit Beyond the Gates. Lindstrom will discuss his new book, Hollywood Payback, with Daphnée Duplaix at 7:15 p.m. on April 14.

May 19

WABE presents An Evening with David Sedaris at the Cobb Energy Centre at 7:30 p.m. on May 19. The National Public Radio contributor and author will be live on stage following the release of his new children’s book, Pretty Ugly.
