Wabi Sabi. The Atlanta Ballet’s contemporary chamber ensemble performs an outdoor recital at Serenbe. August 21 at 5 p.m. Serenbe.


The Garden of Unearthly Delights. Atlanta art critic and curator Jerry Cullum asks 20 contemporary artists to respond to the work of Hieronymus Bosch. Through September 3. Whitespace Gallery.

Obsessed. Atlanta-based jewelry artist Judy Parady curates the work of nine other jewelry artists from across the United States. Through August 27. Marcia Wood Gallery.



Darren English. As part of the Friday Night Jazz at the High series, the South African trumpeter performs songs from his first album Imagine Nation on which he pays tribute to Nelson Mandela. August 19 at 6 p.m. High Museum.

Seal. The English singer and songwriter performs an outdoor concert. August 20 at 8 p.m. Chastain Park Amphitheatre.




The Prom. The Alliance Theatre unveils a new musical about a high school student who sets off a cultural firestorm in her hometown when she wants to bring her girlfriend to the prom. August 18-September 25. Alliance Theatre.



Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney, The Nest. The author presents her new novel about family relationships in which trust funds are jeopardized by a sibling’s reckless behavior. August 18 at 7 p.m. Margaret Mitchell House.



Atlanta Underground Film Festival. A three-day festival screens films by independent, DIY and grassroots filmmakers. August 19-21. Synchronicity Theatre.

Saturday Morning Cartoons. The Fabulous Fox screens classic Warner Brothers cartoons. August 20 at 10 a.m. Fox Theatre.
