Your Guide To The Arts In Atlanta

Five years ago, when her mother was dying, Decatur-based photographer Beate Sass did something she had never done before: she began photographing her parents. “I yearned to imprint their essence, their gestures, a gaze, into my very being and to preserve something tangible,” she says.

Her photographs of her father going about his daily routine at home in New Mexico after her mother’s death are included in the new exhibition A Good Life at Atlanta Photography Group from August 17 to September 22.
