SUMMARY:Two Americas at 250: An Art Exhibit of Our Country’s True Working-Class History
DESCRIPTION:Two America’s at 250: an art exhibit on our country’s true working class history. \nWe are in the battle for history as the U.S. marks 250 years since its founding. The ruling class has always whitewashed the country’s true history\, but this is taking on a new face under the Trump administration as it is actively reshaping how American history is presented in federal institutions\, public landmarks\, and schools.\nAs Trump works to implement his racist\, pro-billionaire agenda\, he is using history as a weapon. He wants us to find pride in a history of bigotry and exploitation because he and his movement are the modern continuation of that history. \nInstead\, we have to draw inspiration from our real working class heroes: those who struggled against colonialism and slavery\, who organized for labor rights and voting rights\, who marched and died in the fight against Jim Crow racism\, who resisted the war machine\, who fought for immigrants’ rights\, or housing\, or environmental protections. Every democratic right\, civil liberty\, and pro-worker reform we defend today was first won through intense struggle waged by these brave people all across this country. \nAfter 250 years\, those are the real revolutionaries whose shoulders we stand on as we build a movement to take the capitalists out of power once and for all. Join us at the Atlanta Liberation Center on Oct 24 at 2PM for the opening of an art exhibit that captures the reality of this nation: Two Americas at 250.
