The Flux Projects Virtual Arts Series returns with Komansé Dance Theater’s “rev•er•ie” streaming online. Choreographed by Georgia Tech alumna and Komansé founder Raianna Brown, the piece was created specifically for the virtual realm. “As black women, living in a country that often wants to quiet our voices, we feel it is our duty to continue to create art that highlights the stories of the silenced,” Brown said in her artist statement.
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra kicks off its “ASO Virtual Stage” watch-party series with a video of a performance with the Morehouse College Glee Club that celebrates the club’s 109th anniversary. First performed in February, the watch party will be streamed on Facebook and YouTube at 8 p.m. April 30. The series continues May 7 with an ASO performance of the Arutiunian Trumpet Concerto that features principal trumpet Stuart Stephenson.
In times like these, when we are separated by necessity, ArtsATL is needed more than ever. Please consider a donation so we can continue to highlight Atlanta’s creative community during this unprecedented time.
