Half a Yellow Sun, which will have its Atlanta premier on June 22, is a drama based on the best-selling novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adechie. Set in newly independent Nigeria of the 1960s, it tells the story of four people whose lives are enveloped by the violent ethnic and political conflict of the Nigerian civil war.
The British/Nigerian production stars Chiwetel Ejiofor of 12 Years a Slave fame, Thandie Newton, John Boyega, Anika Noni Rose, Joseph Mawle and Genevieve Nnaji. Part of the BronzeLens Film Festival and Africa Atlanta.
