The Elusive Divide: A visual arts exhibition addressing themes of division and unity

January 14 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until January 30, 2021

Atlanta’s location on the Eastern Continental Divide serves as a point of departure for this exhibition. Through various media, eight Atlanta artists explore themes relating to division and unity — from literal geographic, biological and physical demarcations to more elusive cultural, social, and conceptual divisions. Organized by Michael Reese and Gregor Turk, the exhibit features works by Amie Esslinger (a detail from her painting “Before the Split” is pictured), Sara Santamaria, Mitchell Biggio, Esteban Patino, Mark Leibert, Tracy Murrell, Michael Reese and Gregor Turk. The show will run through Jan. 30, 2021 (closed Dec. 20, 2020 – Jan. 6, 2021) Thursday-Saturday from 1-5 pm. Free timed tickets for opening weekend, Dec. 11-13, available online. Walk-ins also accepted on space-available basis. The exhibition is a partnership with the Hambidge Center’s Cross-Pollination Art Lab at Uptown Atlanta. This program is supported by the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. Masks required.
