The outlines of Martha Whittington’s simple forms move through the gallery environment containing nothing that is meant to evoke a kind of emptiness and the urge to fill the forms. The made objects themselves invoke a primitive mental image of useful agrarian and maritime tools, inlets and outlets, pipes and sieves. “Winnowing’s Daughter” will include a showing of cast and sewn sculptures by Selena Lillo, the main stitcher for Whittington’s installation. Opening Reception 2-5 p.m. April 4; exhibit runs through May 22.
