Art Papers Live: Artist Talk with Diana Al-Hadid

January 28 @ 5:00 pm

Free

In conjunction with the exhibition Nothing is Stable at the Ernest G. Welch Galleries, and in partnership with the Welch School of Art & Design and the Center for Collaborative and International Arts, Georgia State University, Art Papers presents an artist talk by Diana Al-Hadid. Al-Hadid, a Syrian American artist based in New York, has garnered international acclaim for her intricate sculptures and wall panels that combine traditional and contemporary materials and techniques. Visually and thematically, Al-Hadid draws on Middle Eastern and Western cultures and iconographies, often combining and re-contextualizing wide-ranging historical sources. She has found inspiration in ancient maps, miniature painting, architectural designs and illuminated manuscripts. This event is free and open to the public, but you must register on Zoom.
