POSTPONED: An Imagined History by Whitney Stansell with Fed Up by Kim Truesdale + Methods of Embrace by Rachel K. Garceau
April 15, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until April 25, 2020

Whitney Stansell is interested in the rich tradition of storytelling that is so prevalent in the American South, the way stories and histories are pieced together and solidified in the listener’s mind, then retold and passed along. She has taken this tradition and translated the stories into visual art forms through drawings, paintings, sculptures and other experiential ways. Kim Truesdale’s work explores the role of the conservative Southern women in her family and how they adhere to traditional gender roles prompted by her investigation of the loss of women’s identities and individuality. Rachel K. Garceau is a studio artist living and working in the Atlanta area, and has been recognized as a 2015 Emerging Artist by the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts and one of 2017’s Women to Watch by the Georgia Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
