4×4 at Synchronicity Theatre and Online
An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until November 8, 2020
4 weeks. 4 women. 4 stories. 4×4 is told through four different one-woman shows created by Atlanta artists. Whether you decide to watch via our In the Theatre ticket option, where you’ll join a salon audience at the theatre for a live performance, or you decide to watch the show at home via our On the Screen ticket option, these plays will show you the power of theatre. Family Series tickets are $25 and Bold Voices tickets are $35. Stream the performance online for $10! Purchasing an “On the Screen” ticket allows you to watch the performance from home within a given time period. October 5-24 — Backstage and Other Stories. On-screen only. After a lifetime on Broadway and regional stages, Terry Burrell (Ethel at the Alliance Theatre, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill at Theatrical Outfit) spills the tea in what’s described as a joyful, sassy musical. Virtual viewing party and happy hour at 8:30 p.m. October 8. The great S. Renee Clark directs and music directs.
October 7-11 in theater, October 12-25 on-screen — Stiff. Written and performed by Sherry Jo Ward, an actor who has Stiff Person syndrome, a rare degenerative disease that slowly inhibits her mobility. It’s most definitely not an evening of doom and gloom. You should expect to laugh. Virtual viewing party and happy hour at 8:30 p.m. October 15.
October 14-18 in theater, October 19-November 1 on-screen — Chorus of Bears.The script, written and performed by Lucy Smith, explores one woman’s experience bearing her child, baring her soul and embracing her inner mama bear. Virtual viewing party and happy hour at 8:30 p.m. October 22.
October 21-25 in theater, October 26-November 8 on-screen — rip. Written by Danielle Deadwyler and performed by Jasmine Thomas. Described as equal parts performance and domestic drama. It explores the collapse of a young couple’s marriage. Addae Afura Moon directs, with choreography by Anicka Austin. Virtual viewing party and happy hour at 8:30 p.m. October 29.
