Congressman John Lewis will deliver the keynote address at the AJC Decatur Book Festival, which will open August 30 and run through September 1.

The civil rights hero will discuss March: Book One, the first of a graphic novel trilogy series based on his experiences, created in collaboration with co-writer Andrew Aydin and artist Nate Powell. In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington in 1963, civil and human rights will be one of the book festival’s “tracks” or themes.

The diverse festival lineup includes poet Richard Blanco, critic Naomi Wolf, dynamic twins Lev and Austin Grossman, beloved children’s author Tomi DePaola and novelists Manil Suri and Lily Koppel. For a complete list, see the DBF website.
