To save him from the strain of conversation\, his friend convinces the local residents that Charlie is a “foreigner” who understands no English. The plan backfires with hilarious results as the lodge’s colorful inhabitants—from a cynical heiress to a scheming preacher—begin to treat Charlie as a silent confidant\, confessing their deepest secrets and dark scandals right to his face. What follows is a high-stakes\, mile-a-minute farce where a man who just wanted to be invisible finds himself the only person capable of saving the day.\n“A comic masterpiece… Shue’s play is a tribute to the power of the human spirit to find a common language\, even when the words are all wrong.” — The New York Times \nCONTENT WARNING\nWhile The Foreigner is a celebrated comedy\, its plot centers on a conflict with a local group motivated by xenophobia and extremism. Our production is committed to exploring these themes with modern intentionality\, specifically focusing on the absurdity of hate while prioritizing the safety of our performers and audience. To ground the conflict in a more recognizable contemporary context\, we will be utilizing a “Proud Boys” aesthetic and physicality for many of the antagonists. In terms of staging\, we plan to use very limited traditional regalia\, supplementing the wardrobe with modern-inspired “inflammatory” costuming (ie: “Proud Boys” references). This approach allows us to clearly identify the threat and the play’s anti-bigotry message without unnecessarily overwhelming the space with historical trauma-based imagery. We are dedicated to maintaining an open dialogue throughout the rehearsal process to ensure a supportive environment for all artists involved. \nWHEELCHAIR ACCESS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE – Our wheelchair elevator is currently out of commission and being serviced. Their records\, including Empress Rising\, Vænir\, Rust\, and No Comfort\, cemented their reputation for blending crushing fuzz with melodic undercurrents and immersive repetition. Now one of heavy music’s most consistent and beloved bands\, Monolord are gearing up for their next chapter with a new album arriving in 2026—produced by legendary engineer Sylvia Massy and released via Relapse Records. \nKhemmis \nAfter eleven years of releasing albums and touring the world\, Colorado’s Khemmis have become a pillar of the modern metal scene. \n“When we started this band\, we had no expectations\, no assumptions—we just wanted to play heavy metal\,” says guitarist/vocalist Ben Hutcherson. “The older I get\, the more I appreciate how rare it is in life to have relationships that last this long and offer a sense of stability and reassurance in a world that increasingly is horrifying and unsuitable for human life. While the band has often felt synonymous with the Denver metal scene\, Pendergast and Coleman have since moved away to Washington and North Carolina respectively. \nAnd yet\, Khemmis today feel more like the band they’ve always wanted to be than ever before. They believe not only in the power of the music they’re making\, but their bandmates’ ability to make it with them. \n“We have so much trust in each other\,” says Pendergast. “Me and Zach moving away\, in some ways\, actually strengthened that\, cause it’s kind of proven to ourselves that when we get back together\, we can trust each other to do what we need to do. We’ve been able to reconnect to that sense of just how badass it is that we get to even do this.”

Yarrow holds a Master of Education in Environmental Education from Florida Atlantic University and specializes in education that centers equity\, justice\, queer ecologies\, and multispecies liberation. Alongside their work as a full-time bookseller at Charis Books and More\, Yarrow is the Co-Director and Impact Campaign Coordinator for the Queers 4 Climate Justice documentary Can’t Stop Change: Queer Climate Stories from the Florida Frontlines. In their free time\, Yarrow enjoys hosting queer ecologies outings\, workshops\, and events\, including the monthly Queer Ecologies Book Club at Charis Books and More. \nDr. Julia Skinner is a food writer whose work includes the award-winning book Our Fermented Lives\, and The Fermentation Oracle. Her next book\, Essential Food Preserving\, will be published by Storey publishing in May 2026. She is the founder of The Culinary Curiosity School\, and also runs Root\, a food-focused community and consulting organization offering classes\, consulting on creative projects\, a weekly newsletter\, and more.
