Your Source For The Arts In Atlanta

stephanie-cashCome Monday morning, there will be a new presence behind the pink door of BURNAWAY‘s office in Castleberry Hill. Stephanie Cash, its new Editor, will begin to put her stamp on the five-year-old online art publication.

The Texas native brings a national perspective and a seasoned editorial eye. She was a staff editor and a writer at Art In America in New York for almost 20 years and worked on book projects and exhibition catalogs for the likes of Rizzoli publications and Pace and Marian Goodman galleries.

Cash moved to Atlanta in 2012 and jumped into the art scene. She was a stalwart at ArtsATL, contributing reviews and important news stories.

Says executive director Susannah Darrow. “We had a great pool of candidates for the position, but ultimately Stephanie’s vast editorial experience and excitement about the Atlanta arts community made it a very clear decision for us.

“Being relatively new to Atlanta, she brings a fresh perspective and wider lens for our editorial program. I have followed Stephanie since she started writing in Atlanta and am looking forward to seeing the editorial direction she will bring to the publication.”

Cash  has already begun thinking about that. “Burnaway already has a lot of energy that I’ll be tapping into while honing its content,” she says. “I want to facilitate writing that is both lively and rigorous. I’ll cast a wider net in order to change the perception that BurnAway focuses only on young and emerging artists.”

We will miss her at ArtsATL but look forward to what she will bring to the community in her new position.
