As part of the Atlanta History Center exhibition on the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, Ellen Carol DuBois will talk virtually about her new book — Suffrage: Women’s Long Battle for the Vote — at 7 p.m. Monday. Dubois, a distinguished research professor at UCLA, focuses on both the fight for women’s suffrage and the immense societal shift that it ushered in. She’ll be in conversation with Jessica Vanlanduyt, the History Center’s curator of the Any Great Change: The Centennial of the 19th Amendment exhibit. Copies of her book are available online via A Cappella Books. The talk is free.
The Amplify Summer Streaming Series live from Waller’s Coffee Shop in Decatur continues at 8:30 tonight (August 20) with the Bitteroots, a Decatur-based original jam/roots band founded in 2008.
