Your Source For The Arts In Atlanta

Whitespace has launched a new virtual initiative called Viewing Roomsa way for patrons to see current exhibitions in their entirety. It begins with The Claude Mirrora series of collaborative portraits by Vesna Pavlović. Coming soon is Comma, a collaboration between sculptor Carolyn Henne and Judy Rushin, who have virtually taken over the gallery’s Whitespec and Shedspace spaces. Whitespace is now open to visitors Wednesday–Saturday by appointment only.

Poem 88, now open but by appointment only, has opened Elizabeth K. Porcel & Alexandra Hemrick: The Garden of Earthly Delights. Porcel has been building a female bestiary through her paintings since 2017. Writer-illustrator Hemrick often exaggerates the common, often mundane visual language of the suburbs and domestic life through surrealism. Both are metro Atlanta artists. All Poem 88 patrons must wear a mask and only three visitors are allowed at one time. Appointments can be scheduled on the hour. Through June 27.

The High Museum of Art invites you hear from Atlanta artist Esteban Patiño through its virtual Inside the Artist’s Studio video series. The Colombia-born, Atlanta-based Patiño is represented in the High’s permanent collection. His practice explores the infinite potential of communication through sculpture, and works on paper, canvas and wood. Ongoing.

In times like these when we are separated by necessity, ArtsATL is needed more than ever. Please consider a donation so we can continue to highlight Atlanta’s creative community in this unprecedented time.
